    "For many years, Gui Minhai ran a publishing house and bookstore based in Hong Kong. He wrote himself and published others. A labour in the service of the freedom of expression. For this, Gui Minhai was imprisoned. The prize is awarded in honour of his tireless work for the cause of free speech, in support of his release and right to resume his publishing activities."

  • Anna Politovskaya memorial prize

    The Anna Politovskaya Memorial Prize is awarded annually by the Swedish Publicists’ Association to a journalist who has distinguished themselves in their defense of the freedom of expression.

With our Anna Politovskaya Memorial Prize the Swedish Publicists’ Association wishes to demonstrate our support of Gui Minhai and his struggle for human rights in China.
